Recommended Spiritual Books

The following books are not part of the mainstream books by the well know personalities when searching for spiritual guidance and enlightenment but are incredibly interesting and filled with wisdom. A book read today and in 5 years time, will have different meanings and interpretations as one moves on the path of spiritual development. I am a great fan of the Silver Birch books as they are filled with guidance and information from and about the World of Spirit. I started my quest for information about the World of Spirit many years ago when I bought a copy of Many Lives, Many Masters by Dr. Brian Weiss. About 4 years later I was guided to attend the Christian Spiritualist church in the Isle of Man, which exposed me to the more "serious" spiritual books for my spiritual development. I was recommended to read the White Eagle series of books as a start on my journey of connecting with spirituality. The books are interesting and opened my eyes to many aspects of spiritual growth and development although I felt that the books were setting high standards and leaning towards religious teachings, which I do not fully embrace. In fact in my search to form a balanced view between religion, spirituality and atheists, I read 2 books by Michel Onfray, a French philosopher, which were very interesting (I have listed below) to understand an atheists point of view. The Silver Birch series of books are by far the most enlightening books filled with timeless wisdom, which were channeled from about 1930 to 1980 through Maurice Barbanell (initially an agnostic). I often reread the Silver Birch books, which now (2025) have a very different meaning to when I was first exposed to Silver Birch in about 2010. I was thrilled during my mentoring sessions with Sheila, that Silver Birch made contact with and via Sheila, after an absence of 40 years since the passing of Maurice Barbanell.

Obviously I recommend reading my book based on Sheila's messages and writings as they are so down to earth and not filled with jaw breaking words meant to impress people. Sheila was very humble in acknowledging her incredible mediumship abilities but not shy to be pretty straightforward and outspoken, when necessary.

The messages/writings in Light, Love and Soul Progression deal with every day situations, which is applicable to every reader, as well as spiritual matters of the highest order. It highlights that all humans are spiritual beings/souls who incarnate in a body to learn certain lessons/progress spiritually.

The book teaches that all humans are subject to the rules of the Universe and that no thoughts, words or deeds escape the attention of the Universe and thus when our soul returns to the World of Spirit, we are individually held accountable for our actions and the impact thereof on the recipients of our actions. The life review is undertaken in a loving environment within the appropriate hierarchy in the World of Spirit . I would however not like to be one of the world leaders (economic, political & religious) who have abused their power for whatever reason as they will be without the support structure as given to them whilst on the Earth Plane.
